On Tuesday, November 10th, Sarah Bruch and Rachel Maller of the Equity Implemented Partnership will present the results of the 2020 School Climate Survey to the ICCSD School Board. This report details the results of the Student Experiences of School Climate Survey administered annually to the 5th through 12th grade students in the Iowa City Community School District. The ICCSD has administered this survey to students each February from 2016-2020.
On December 10, the Iowa City Community School District released its Comprehensive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan, 2019-2022. The Plan, which seeks to address the inequities that arise in many different facets of the K-12 system, was co-constructed through an inclusive engagement process that began with the drafting of a Comprehensive Equity Plan in 2014-15.
Equity Implemented Partnership team member Rachel Maller presented at the Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA) Conference in Chicago as part of a symposium entitled, “Leveraging Research-Practice Partnerships for Insights into School Climate Experiences and Impacts in Racially Diverse Districts.”
The Iowa City Community School District (ICCSD) and the Equity Implemented Partnership released a report on Tuesday, June 11 that describes student experiences of school climate in the District’s schools. The report details results from a survey administered to all 5th through 12th grade students in the ICCSD in February 2019 as well as trends in student experiences from 2016.
